Welcome to the School Psychology Clinic @ Midtown Psychological Services. As specialists in school and clinical psychology, our clinic warmly welcomes students six years of age and older. Whether you’re a gifted student or one who really struggles, it helps to know what you’re good at and what gets in your way. Through a comprehensive psychological and/or psychoeducational assessment we are able to work with you to identify your unique learning needs and strengths. We are fully licensed to diagnose learning, developmental and neurocognitive disorders (e.g., adhd) and we strive to provide you with evidence based recommendations that will set you up for success. Gifted Testing

The purpose of gifted testing is to identify students with special learning needs due to their exceptional level of intelligence, as measured on an IQ test.  Students who meet the criteria of the Gifted exceptionality may be formally identified through the Identification Placement and Review Committee (IPRC) process, as an exceptional student.  These students may then qualify for placement in a Gifted Program. What is a school psychologist?

School psychologists are a critical part of your child’s school team.  We work collaboratively with teachers and administrators both in schools and privately. Our training and practice relies heavily on evidence-based decision making, accurately identifying problems and making recommendations for interventions that set students up for success.

School psychologists are trained in the assessment and diagnosis of a broad range of cognitive, learning, and mental health difficulties that can get in the way of academic success.  We administer and interpret a wide range of psychoeducational measures and use clinical assessment tools with increasing sophistication and benefit.
